MDC Partners is a holding company based in New York City and Toronto. MDC has invested in companies in many sectors including crisis management, direct marketing, entertainment, investor relations, advertising, B2B, and PR. They’ve also invested in multicultural advertising, branding, publishing, digital/interactive, experiential marketing, media buying, media planning, product innovation, social media, and strategic planning. They are publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ.
MDC was founded in 1980 as Multi Discipline Communications Inc. by Miles Nadel, who served as CEO until mid-2015 when he stepped down amid an investigation by the SEC. Scott Kauffman currently serves as the CEO and chairperson. Mr. Kauffman originally started with the firm as a member of the Board of Directors in 2006 and moved up to the presiding director role until the most recent transition to CEO.
