France, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands see alliances between Ketchum, Porter Novelli, and FleishmanHillard – All of Omnicom PR Group
The three Omnicom PR Group agencies are pooling resources and talent in the four European markets for clients. Although individual brands will remain with the firms to which they are signed, the three will work together in special efforts and when doing so, will do so under the Omnicom PR Group name and logo.
Karen van Bergen said: “In our first year of the Omnicom PR Group, one of the things we’ve seen is the power of collaboration. Today is formalizing that integrated working structure in four specific markets.”
When collaborating, the local office leaders will be in charge of their markets, for France, it will be Sandrine Cormary, GM of the FH Paris office; for Italy, Massimo Moriconi, FH’s partner and GM will be in charge; PN’s Higinio Martinez, Madrid’s Managing Director, will be in charge of efforts in Spain, and in the Netherlands Rosalinde van de Wall, FH’s Managing Director of the Amsterdam office will lead.
Parker Ray Becomes Chief Digital Strategist at MWWPR
MWWPR just named a new EVP and chief digital strategist working out of the New York office. Parker Ray comes to MWWPR from MSLGroup. He was their digital practice leader in New York, where he expanded digital offerings in many sectors while leading their core digital team. Prior to MSLGroup, he was in charge of social and digital at Golin New York. While at Golin he helped develop their social media protocols enhancing content development, channel strategy, community management, and social analytics. In this new position, he’ll head up MWWPR’s social media strategy, overall digital, digital media buying, agency education initiatives, social listening, and influencer programs.
Deportivo (Sweden) Joins Edelman UK as In-house Creative Agency
Deportivo, based in Stockholm, has been rebranded as Edelman Deportivo UK. They were acquired by Edelman UK back in 2014, but are being integrated more completely now as they will be working with the UK-based clients of Edelman. They will split time between Stockholm and London. The team will be led by current chief executive for Deportivo – Mattias Ronge, now becoming the chairman of the newly branded entity. They will report to Toby Gunton, Edelman UK’s general manager. Deportivo has PR and advertising awards including ones earned in Sweden with Absolut Vodka, Renault, and UNICEF as clients.
Ee Rong Chong of Ogilvy Singapore Named Outstanding PR Professional by PRISM
Ogilvy PR Singapore’s MD at Ogilvy & Mather Group, Ee Rong Chong, just received the honor of being named PRISM Awards’ Outstanding PR Professional of the Year for the region. Ogilvy also received three other awards from PRISM including the Best PR Campaign of the Year for a campaign done for the Traffic Police called “Use Your Road Sense.” PRISM Awards first began in 1987 to recognize, reward, and encourage individuals and organizations for PR, communications, and contributions to the profession in Singapore. 160 organizations have received the awards for their creative and original efforts.
Justice Department Subpoenaed MDC Partners
The Justice Department is currently investigating allegations that agencies have been steering production of commercials through contract pricing manipulation and whether or not in doing so they disadvantaged independent contractors. MDC Partners Inc.’s subsidiaries and other agencies are included in this investigation. Crispin Porter + Bogusky and 72andSunny were both subpoenaed. MDC filed information that was requested with the Justice Department and said they are cooperating fully with the confidential investigation.
