Miss Israel Yityish “Titi” Aynaw: Israel’s Public Relations Dream Come True

Miss Israel Yityish “Titi” Aynaw: Israel’s Public Relations Dream Come True

Israel’s Strong Public Relations Ambassador

For a young woman, Yityish “Titi” Aynaw (pronounced Ya-Teesh I-now) has accomplished some amazing things. She was born in Ethiopia in 1991. Her father died when she was only a few years old, followed after her tenth birthday by her mother’s passing. At the age of 12, she and her brother moved to Israel to live with their grandparents.

Before long, Titi had learned to speak Hebrew and during high school she served as student body president, participated in track and field, and won a national film competition for students. After that, she served as a lieutenant in the Israel Defense Forces where she was assigned to the Military Police Corps. Once she had completed her tour of duty, she began work in the fashion industry and started her college education. She attends the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya where she studies international relations. This is a remarkable young woman.

Miss Israel

A friend of Titi’s entered her in the 2013 Miss Israel competition. Though she had never done any modeling, she took the stage by storm, winning and making history at the same time as she became the first Ethiopian Jew, and the first black woman to be crowned. Only a few months later she received a special invitation to attend a reception in honor of President Barack Obama’s first official visit to Israel. She met him at the event.  Later in 2013, Titi represented Israel in the Miss Universe competition- and since then she has continued modeling while also keeping up with her education.

Since the Beauty Queen Days

Titi is currently visiting the United States on a whirlwind Public Relations tour organized by the Jewish National Fund (JNF) and Media Watch International to promote Pro-Israel activity.  After all, who better than a smart, gorgeous beauty queen to show the diversity of Israel.  Can anyone actually claim that Israel is an apartheid state with an African woman as the face of the nation?

Titi is an outspoken voice in her country – With her modeling career, she travels the world and is often interviewed. When it comes to social media, her Facebook account has over 18K followers and she not only shows modeling pictures, but also photos of events held through her charities and other charitable organizations she believes in. Titi also expresses her deep love of  the State of Israel online.

Her Instagram page is worth following here.

During her visit to New York in November 2016 as part of a U.S. tour organized by Media Watch International and the Jewish National Fund she talked about the diversity and uniqueness of the Jewish people. “There are Americans who I meet who are surprised that I’m Jewish and that I was an officer in the IDF and won Miss Israel. It’s weird for them. They don’t understand my story. Everything good that I represent, they don’t realize that these are things that can happen in Israel.”

This woman is clearly a Public Relations gift for the State of Israel and a great future Ambassador for the country.  Onward, Yityish “Titi” Aynaw.
