Publicis and Wal-Mart strike a deal

This week, Wal-Mart signed a deal with Global PR and ad agency Publicis Groupe allowing the retail giant full access to all the agencies and resources of PG.

PG’s Chairman and CEO, Maurice Levy, said “This relationship is the direct result of  Publicis’ new approach, ‘the Power of One,’ which is designed to deliver end-to-end solutions for our clients. Wal-Mart is already implementing innovative approaches to reach its customers. Our goal is to leverage all of Publicis’ assets – not just the resources of one agency – to help them in these efforts.”

Though PG will be the primary AOR for Wal-Mart’s U.S. advertising and in-store creative efforts, the relationship is not exclusive.

Finn Partners acquires Greenfield Belser

Greenfield Belser is a creative branding firm specializing in the digital sector with clients across the U.S. and headquartered in DC. The acquisition by Finn Partners allows them to expand their areas of expertise to include key B2B sectors. GB’s co-founder, Burkey Belser becomes the managing partner of Finn Partners’ Digital/Creative practice in the Greenfield Belser division.

Hostess Brand to list on NASDAQ with help from both Sitrick and Rubenstein Assoc.

Both Rubenstein Associates and Sitrick & Co. are working with Gores Group, soon to be owners in the majority stake in Hostess, as well as Apollo Global Management and C. Dean Metropoulos – together owning the remaining stake. Rubenstein is signed to help Apollo, and Sitrick – Gores. Sitrick previously represented Hostess helping them through their bankruptcy.

The New York Times recently estimated that Metropoulos and Apollo could make as much as $1 billion from their $185 million initial investment.
