Ruder Finn Captures the European Bioplastics Account
Following a competitive pitch, Ruder Finn won the account to manage Avantium’s (Dutch plants-to-plastics pioneer) PR needs across the EMEA. Working closely with Avantium’s in-house team in Amsterdam, Ruder Finn’s London team will be in charge of English language media across the region. Also, the PR agency is tasked with messaging, content management, and influencer relations. Avantim’s target audience mainly includes B2B clients, such as decision-makers, investors, and prospective partners. However, Avantim also targets a small portion of consumer media.
Edelman Hires Dave Samson as Vice Chair
Newly appointed vice chairman Dave Samson, in charge of corporate affairs, injects a wealth of experience to Edelman’s bench. With 16 years at the helm of Chevron’s public relations affairs, Samson’s appointment is a game changer. Notably, his expertise in corporate branding and advertising, media relations, executive communications, employee communications, and issues management is a plus to the organization.
In the newly-created role, Samson will take the lead in counseling Edelman’s corporate and crisis clients, and some of the PR firm’s large accounts. At the same time, Samson will have the task of expanding the annual Edelman Trust Barometer.
