Peppercomm PR Pushes Boundries in the Broadway Scene
In an intriguing change per the norm of Broadway PR, executives from the New York theater press agency O&M Co., headed by Rick Miramontez, join with DKC Public Relations to Launch DKC/O&M.
This new agreement offers a significant push into the Broadway scene for DKC and its entertainment department led by Joe Quenqua joining DKC in 2013 after several years as a Disney publicist. Since DKC offices are in L.A., San Francisco, Chicago, Miami and Washington, D.C., DKC/O&M lists itself as the first ever PR agency for Broadway and other live events.
To note, O&M’s clients include the last three Tony champions: “Fun Home,” “Kinky Boots,” and “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder.” Other great shows include “Beautiful,” and the soon-to-be shows “School of Rock” and “Eclipsed,” et al. Andy Snyder, the creative director of the company, partnered with the VP of the company’s theatrical division, Molly Barnett, in joining Miramontez at DKC/O&M. O&M Co. and Miramontez first gained the industry’s collective attention when the firm signed “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark,” successfully representing the relatively infamous production with a flapless sense of humor. Miramontez penchant for showmanship befits his path to Broadway PR, a feat earning him a full profile in the New York Times.
DKC Public Relations Merger
DKC Communicaitons was created in 1991, and has since become an independent and national firm representing clients registering across a wide spectrum of industries including marketing, crisis management, and government affairs. Once this DKC/O&M merger concludes, the company will sport a new event production division, named DKC Incite. This October, Peppercomm was named with the accolade 100 Best Workplaces for Women 2015 by Great Place to Work and Fortune. Some factors earning them 64th place include bi-gender perks removing all double-standards and the quality of the workplace culture.
This prestigious ranking surveyed employee sentiment, and it appears that employees of Peppercomm take pride in their company, appreciate their uniquely satisfying work/life balance, and the overall workplace culture. To list a few perks, employees have their birthday off, are offered stand-up comedy training, telecommuting opportunities, and bring-your-kids-to-work day.
“At Peppercomm, we put our people first. That’s how we’ve attracted and retained the best talent in the industry for the past 20 years,” decrees Sara Whitman, Senior Director, Talent & Strategy.
Maybe they know that many have told us here at Everything PR News that Peppercomm does not do good work.
