PR Industry Moves this Week: Everything PR News Weekly Personnel Recap

Fast Pace

There’s lots happening in the Public Relations world recently – just check out some of the recent changes happening in firms – some firms are looking, and some moves completed already.

Manuel Hüttl leaves Waggener Edstrom leaving them looking for a new General Manager in their Munich office (Germany). Until the position is filled, deputy GM Bianca Eichner does double duty. Reports are that Herr Hüttl left the position under mutually agreeable terms after working in that office for over eight years. Since Eichner has been leading the charge, the firm brought in several new clients – A10 Networks, Honeywell Building Solutions, and Takeda Oncology.

In her latest move, Dawn Rowan has been named as the new VP – Director of Media Relations at Rubenstein Public Relations (that’s Richard’s company – not Howard’s). She’ll be using her 20 years of experience and contacts to facilitate high-impact campaigns. From the look of things, Rowan likes to keep on the move, building where she is and then moving to new challenges. Over the years, she has sharpened her skills at Rubenstein Associates, RLM America Online, M. Silver Associates, her own startup company – Firebrand, Dan Klores Communications, and NBC 4 New York.

Jon Silk, a board director at Bite UK, is switching titles and offices to the San Francisco office as Global SVP overseeing strategy for Bite. Additional changes at Bite UK include hiring Ricky Davison as Director of consumer practices – he came from Kazoo. Alice Bruce moved from Nando’s and will be the Associate Director of consumer. Also, the firm added Craig Barber as art director, and Louise Waller was promoted to Director of business practice.

Makovsky & Company hired a new SVP of health practice, Megan Thomas. Thomas has nearly 20 years’ experience in health communications. The five most recent of those years she served as global head of communications at Sanofi Oncology. And 15 of those 20 years she’s served in corporate leadership at Novartis Oncology and Sanofi Oncology. Thomas’ office will be in Cambridge, Massachusetts – close to the 550 pharm and biotech companies.

Kristie Kuhl has been appointed senior partner of health at Finn Partners. Most of her efforts are directed toward pharmaceutical, biotechnology, specialty pharma and orphan drug clients. Before coming to Finn Partners, she was Executive VP at Cohn and Wolfe, and also at Makovsky & Company.

Nicole J. Schoenberg keeps very busy. In September 2015 she signed on as Sr. VP at Prosek Partners moving from her post as Sr. VP and Director of Financial Communications at MWW after less than a year with them, and as the owner of Schoenberg Communications Consulting.
