Chief Communications Officer (CCO)

A chief communications officer, or CCO, is the senior executive responsible for an organization's internal and external communications, reputation and media strategy.

The CCO usually reports to the CEO and oversees media relations, internal communications, public affairs, crisis response and brand reputation. In a crisis, the CCO is often the most visible internal decision maker after the CEO.
