Sound Bite

A sound bite is a short, quotable statement, typically under fifteen seconds when spoken, designed to be picked up in broadcast and print coverage.

Sound bites are built during media training. A good one is specific, memorable and on message, because it is the line most likely to survive editing into the final story.
