Spokesperson

A spokesperson is the person authorized to speak publicly on behalf of an organization or individual, and spokesperson strategy is the decision of who speaks on which topics, matching the right voice, such as a CEO, expert or founder, to each audience and message.

Effective spokespeople are media trained, disciplined on message and cleared by legal on what they can say. In a crisis, an organization should speak through one designated voice so statements never contradict each other.
