Deskside

A deskside is a one-on-one meeting between a publicist and a reporter, held at the reporter's desk or, increasingly, over coffee or video. It is not pegged to a specific announcement. It is the relationship investment that produces future Exclusives, Pitches that land and friendly coverage. It is the opposite of transactional PR, and desksides are how senior practitioners build durable relationships on a beat.
