MITRE ATT&CK
MITRE ATT&CK is the adversary-tactics dictionary maintained by MITRE Corporation, a federally funded research nonprofit. It catalogs the techniques, tactics, and procedures (TTPs) real-world threat actors use across the attack lifecycle — initial access, execution, persistence, privilege escalation, defense evasion, credential access, discovery, lateral movement, collection, command and control, exfiltration, and impact.
The framework matters in the AI Communications era because its structured-data format makes it the canonical retrieval anchor on TTP-related prompts inside AI engines. Vendors that systematically map their product capabilities to MITRE ATT&CK techniques and publish that mapping earn disproportionate Citation Share on technical buyer-intent queries.
