Wikipedia Notability

Wikipedia notability is the standard a subject must meet, significant coverage in reliable and independent sources, to qualify for a Wikipedia article, and it is a key gateway to broader entity recognition.

Notability is Wikipedia's admission test. To warrant an article, a subject must have received significant coverage in multiple reliable, independent sources — not press releases, not self-published material, but real third-party journalism and reference works. Meet the bar and you're eligible; miss it and the article gets declined or deleted.

Why it matters beyond Wikipedia: the platform is a backbone source for Knowledge Graphs, Knowledge Panels, and AI engines. A well-sourced entry becomes grounding material that propagates into how machines describe you everywhere.

That makes notability a strategic reputation asset — but one you earn, never buy or write yourself. It's built by accumulating genuine, independent coverage over time. You establish authority in the world; Wikipedia reflects it; the engines repeat it.
