The succession had been planned for two years. Buchanan named Yocum and Reynolds Partners in 2023, gave them minority ownership at the same time, and used the intervening period to transition client relationships and operating leadership. Buchanan, who founded the firm from a spare bedroom in 1998, stepped away from day-to-day operations and continues to support the firm as a consultant.

Yocum guides agency strategy with a focus on marketing, human resources, and talent development. Reynolds directs business development and financial operations. Both have spent the bulk of their careers at Buchanan and were promoted from within, a deliberate choice that preserves the firm's culture and client relationships through the transition. The structure is a clean handoff rather than an outside sale, leaving Buchanan independent and Philadelphia-headquartered.
