New Leadership Team for Weber Shandwick Southwest

Neil Nowlin, an integral leader in Weber Shandwick since 2003, has become the firm’s General Manager for its Southwest region, announced Weber Shandwick.  Nowlin will now head operations in Dallas, Austin and Houston, reporting to Weber Shandwick North America President Cathy Calhoun.

Nowlin has nearly 20 years of public affairs experience helping clients develop and maintain brand confidence and reputations.  Calhoun explained that Nowlin’s record suited him for the position:

“Neil is a proven leader and sought-after counselor who brings strategic perspective, clarity and creativity to everything he does… He’s the perfect choice to lead our operations in Texas. He will be an important addition to our team of senior leaders across North America and around the world.”

Nowlin will work with an accomplished team of recently appointed leaders in Weber Shandwick for the Southwest region. Dawn Kahle, new Deputy General Manager of Weber Shandwick Southwest, will support Nowlin in various operational and business development roles. Kahle, has been with the firm for ten years with particular expertise in public relations programs for national consumer and healthcare, consumer technology and enterprise software.

Ryan Mikolasik with eight years of experience, has been promoted to Executive Vice President, client relationship leader (CRL) for the American Airlines business.  Dave Nieland, former interim General Manager, will now head the Southwest Technology Practice.

Dallas based staffers are also taken on broader responsibilities.  Chris Vary has been named Executive Vice President of Digital Program Innovation. Senior Vice President, Teisha Van De Kop, aims to bolster The Studio @ Weber Shandwick by focusing on digital and video content creation and syndication for Weber Shandwick North America.
