Public relations and marketing agency Antenna Group appointed Anna Cahill Leonard as president. In her new position, Leonard is responsible for client strategy and counsel, as well as overall agency management and growth.

Prior to joining Antenna Group, Anna Cahill Leonard held key managerial positions including president and global technology practice leader at Cohn & Wolfe; chief operating officer at Blanc & Otus; managing director and executive vice president for Porter Novelli; and earlier roles at KVO Advertising and Public Relations (now Fleishman-Hillard) and Hill & Knowlton.

Leonard strengthened Antenna Group's managerial team, bringing 25 years of experience.

"One of my passions is to help companies build brands that stand out in the marketplace and drive business results through strategic, inspired public relations and communications," Anna Cahill Leonard told Everything PR. "As President of Antenna, I will be responsible for client strategy and counsel as well as growth and management of the agency. I am looking forward to continuing to expand Antenna's position as a leader in energy tech and high-tech communications."

With her new position, Leonard also expanded Antenna's practice into a new field.

"I am also incredibly excited to officially establish Antenna's Technology practice, which we will be launching later this year," she told us.

CEO Keith Zakheim framed the move:

"The Energy Technology industry is experiencing the convergence of energy and big data, energy and software, and energy and enterprise systems. To truly compete in this environment Antenna needed to have someone like Anna whose experience in energy tech and high tech provides a unique strategic perspective for confronting the new opportunities and challenges in the Energy Technology industry."

During her career, Leonard led technology clients including Cisco Systems, Facebook, Oracle, Qualcomm and Saba Software.

Editor's Note (2026 Update)

The 2013 framing in earlier versions of this piece described an Antenna / Beckerman "merger." The accurate sequence: Beckerman acquired the original San Francisco-based clean-tech PR firm The Antenna Group in 2010 as a sector specialty within the Beckerman holding company. In April 2019 — celebrating Beckerman's 30th anniversary — the parent firm consolidated all subsidiaries (Beckerman, Eco Branding, Chicago Digital) under the unified Antenna Group brand. The agency operates under that name today.

Antenna Group is now a global marketing and communications agency with approximately 150 employees across New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Detroit, Washington D.C., and London (Covent Garden, opened 2024–2025 as the firm's first transatlantic office). Annual revenue runs $28.9M–$35M. Keith Zakheim remains CEO. Sector focus: climate & energy, mobility, real estate & PropTech, healthcare, B2B tech, public affairs, and venture capital.
