Scope: The selected consultant will be responsible for providing a variety of communications services to the Township, including but not limited to the following tasks:

1. Consultation Services:

o Provide on-call consultation and advice to Township representatives on an asneeded basis, addressing communication needs and strategies as required, and attend a weekly virtual communications meeting (every Tuesday at 10 am) with the Mayor and staff members to prepare for the weekly e-Bulletin which is distributed every week on Thursday

2. Public Information Campaigns:

o Execute targeted public information efforts, including featured articles, press releases, and publicity, to increase awareness of Township events, services, and other significant community matters.

3. Newsletter, E-Bulletin:

o Research, write and design the quarterly Township newsletter and weekly ebulletin.

4. Press Releases:

o Advise, as needed, on press releases written and distributed by in-house Community Information Officer.

5. Graphic Design:

o Utilize the Township’s branding guide to develop graphic design, as requested.

o Coordinate familiarity and utilization of the Township branding guide by Township departments.

o Train Township staff on how to prepare flyers using the Township branding guide, and use of software programs like Canva.

6. Videography/Photography:

o As requested, attend Township events to capture video and photos for use in social media, newsletter, e-bulletin, and a Township promotional sizzle video that has been developed and should be updated, when requested by the Township.

7. Social Media Management:

o Oversee and manage the Township’s social media accounts, including Facebook, X, Instagram, and other relevant platforms, ensuring timely and relevant content is developed in accordance with existing Township branding guide and posted regularly. Per Township policy, public commenting is not enabled on Township social media accounts, so there is no need for monitoring and managing

8. Social Media Publicity:

o Utilize social media to generate publicity, increase community engagement, and improve the Township’s overall social media presence.

9. Communications Process & Procedures:

o Assist with the annual review of the Township’s internal communications processes and procedures to ensure efficient and consistent messaging.

10. Media Coverage Promotion:

o Interact with department heads and other Township staff to promote media coverage of relevant events, services, and initiatives.

o Advise, as needed, on press releases, official Township/Mayoral remarks, and monthly Mayoral column in local newspaper written by in-house Community Information Officer who will also distribute to stakeholders and media outlets using the Township’s contacts distribution lists. If needed, ability to write press releases, official Township/Mayoral remarks, and monthly Mayoral column, in the event the CIO is not available to complete.

11. Other Communication Projects:

• Provide assistance with additional communication-related projects and tasks as needed.
