Scope: The University of Connecticut is seeking proposals from experienced and qualified athletics memorabilia, collectible, and surplus sales and storage vendors to provide consulting, marketing, and sales services for UConn Athletics. All products and services provided under the awarded contract must meet the standards and requirements outlined throughout this RFP and in a resulting contract.

With the shift to the revenue-sharing model for college athletics student-athletes, the University is looking for a partner or partners to assist the UConn Athletics Department with maximizing the value of the marketing and sale of its memorabilia, collectibles, and surplus items. Services may include asset identification, cataloging, evaluation, management, transportation, and storage, with end-to-end marketing, sales, and fulfilment services. The University is seeking one or more partners to provide services related to the following categories of items:

1. Facility renovation project materials (examples: seats, lockers, banners, plaques, trophies, awards, signage, building materials)
2. Game-used and/or autographed memorabilia or collectibles(examples: uniforms, shoes, apparel, and equipment worn or autographed by players or coaches)
3. Unused/New non-branded surplus apparel and equipment items(examples: new, non-branded apparel, select footwear, and unused equipment)

A proposer may submit a proposal to meet the needs of the University by delivering some or all the services described above in any one or more of the identified categories. A proposer is not required to provide all services described above to be considered for award.

It is the University’s intent to give one or more contract awards, on a non-exclusive basis, as a result of this RFP. The University reserves the right to make multiple awards as deemed by the University to be in the University’s best interest. Awarded vendors are not guaranteed any work as the result of a contract award. The expectations and rights of each party should be anticipated, identified, and reviewed at the outset and throughout the contract to create and continue a positive, productive, and lasting relationship.

Initial term of 3 years, plus 2 additional 1-year extensions, or any part or combination thereof, for a total potential contract term of 5 years.
