Ireland-Investment Arm Issues Call For A New Public Relations Firm
IDA Ireland, a Government-funded agency which seeks to attract global businesses to set up in Ireland (www.idaireland.com) is seeking a PR firm of record. The current agency of record is PadillaCRT.
IDA’s mandate is to convince global companies to make Ireland their main European base and to encourage them to innovate from Ireland to ultimately grow their market share. The United States continues to be Ireland’s largest source of foreign direct investment (FDI) and influencing existing and potential client companies, business audiences generally and the US media market remains a core part of IDA’s overall marketing activity.
They seek an agency to help them shape perceptions of Ireland more generally in the United States, including ‘influencing the influencers’.
IDA’s Communications strategy seeks to showcase Ireland’s attributes as an investment location, based on a blend of a talented skills pool, a long standing FDI track record, pro-business policies and an attractive tax rate. Ireland also benefits from its ease of doing business, a strong education sector and access to the European market (the biggest in the world in GDP terms).
In order to achieve the objective of showcasing Ireland’s pro-business proposition, IDA wants to emphasise and highlight the advantages for US businesses of locating in Ireland, via influential communications channels and is seeking a public relations and marketing resource in that context.
The core focus of the contracted work would be media relations and ensuring that IDA, and Ireland’s business proposition generally, achieves a prominent presence in key US media channels, particularly those focusing primarily on the financial sector, tech sector, but also the life sciences sector. (Social media work or event planning is not required in this instance).
The agency wants to tell the story of those firms that have already taken the decision to locate in Ireland and persuade new firms to make a similar decision. A key part of the work will be finding innovative ways to highlight the advantages of an Irish location to US firms. It is worth making applicants aware that this is a highly competitive landscape, with many countries competing to persuade major firms to place their European hubs in their country.
IDA Ireland wants to maximise coverage in national US media outlets. They also seek to properly publicize events and conferences the IDA is involved with, and a heavy media relations campaign. Further details are available by contacting Sinead Cullinan at Sinead.cullinan@ida.ie. The deadline for submission is October 30th.
