Scope: The agency shall provide full-service advertising services to the Department of the Virginia Aquarium.
Account & Brand Management
* Partner with the Aquarium’s marketing team to ensure strategic alignment with the organization’s business objectives and to help meet their FY26-27 goals.
* Serve as an ongoing brand steward and proactive idea generator for advertising campaigns.
* Ensure messaging consistency across channels and campaigns.
* Manage relationships between third-party consultants and vendors to establish and maintain strong communications strategies and plans.
* Manage and communicate timelines, deliverables, approvals and budgets.
* Manage and host recurring status calls with the Aquarium.
Media Planning & Buying
* Act as the media buyer for the Aquarium, planning and buying out-of-home, broadcast, print and digital.
* Research to develop the best media mix each fiscal year.
* Manage Google AdWords campaigns and Google grants.
* Provide detailed reporting consistently throughout the year, including recommendations around campaign optimizations, performance analysis and insights into predictive and industry trends as it relates to paid media.
Creative Development
* Develop one annual creative campaign to run for approximately 12 months, applicable to all planned media channels. The creative process should include at least three (3) initial concepts for Aquarium consideration that are conversion-focused, on brand and unique from previous campaigns.
* Creative development should consider evolving consumer trends, platform best practices, accessibility guidelines and competitive intelligence to ensure brand differentiation.
* Provide production costs as a written estimate for approval.
* Execute all work with accessibility in mind, complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), such as color contrast, alt text, and closed captions, to name a few.
Analytics
* Establish meaningful key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to each media type and ensure ability to attribute ticket sales and estimated revenue for each conversion channel.
* Create and maintain a performance dashboard or similar system to store and report on channel performance month-to-month and year-over-year.
