City of Vernon Issues RFP For Tourism Destination Videos

The City is seeking proposals from qualified proponents to create a full length four-season destination video and individual activity and sector based promotional videos for Tourism Vernon. The videos shall be comprised of segments focused on promoting Vernon as an attractive four season destination and entice visitors, travel trade, meetings, events and sports to stay and/or extend their stays in Vernon. The purpose of the videos is to capture the essence and uniqueness of Vernon as a visitor destination and showcase our tourism products, services, attractions and activities. Qualified proponents should have an eye to produce iconic imagery showcasing local experiences in the Vernon area that support our brand – Activate Life and destination video experience would be an asset.

Background:

Tourism Vernon operates as part of the Economic Development department of the City of Vernon. The City of Vernon is the largest city in British Columbia’s North Okanagan Regional District and provides all the amenities of a major city. The Vernon area has three beautiful lakes, rolling hills and scenic vistas. It consists of the City of Vernon, SilverStar Mountain Resort, Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre, the District of Coldstream and the Village of Lumby. Tourism activities, experiences and partners stretch from Vernon to the North Okanagan. World-renowned golf courses, agri-tourism, hiking and biking trails and outdoor adventure are here for your enjoyment.

Scope of Work:

The purpose of the videos is to capture the essence and uniqueness of Vernon as a visitor destination and may be used in social media, online and some TV campaigns. Qualified proponents should have an eye to produce iconic imagery showcasing local experiences in the Vernon area that support our brand – Activate Life.

Footage will be compiled over four seasons and focused on promoting Vernon as an attractive four season destination that will entice visitors, travel trades, meetings, events and sports to stay and/or extend their stays in Vernon.

                The qualified proponent will create:

·         ONE (1) 90-120 second destination video

·         ONE (1) 20-30 second winter destination video

·         ONE (1) 20-30 second spring destination video

·         ONE (1) 20-30 second summer destination video

·         ONE (1) 20-30 second autumn destination video

·         FOUR (4) – SIX (6) 10-30 second sector/activity based videos
