About Denver Arts & Venues Denver Arts & Venues (DAV) is the City and County of Denver agency responsible for operating some of the region’s most renowned facilities, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Denver Performing Arts Complex, Colorado Convention Center, Denver Coliseum, McNichols Civic Center Building and Theatre at Loretto Heights. We also oversee the Denver Public Art Program, funding opportunities like Urban Arts Fund, P.S. You Are Here and EDI Arts & Culture Fund, implementation of Denver’s Cultural Plan and other entertainment and cultural events and Sunset Cinema.
Funds generated by the agency are invested back into the community through grants for artists and arts organizations, free and low-cost cultural events, art in public spaces, venue operation and maintenance and arts education. Marketing Contractor – Position Description
Denver Arts & Venues is seeking one or two independent Marketing and Communications Contractor(s) with 4+ years of experience in arts and cultural marketing. The awarded vendor(s) will lead and support a few marketing initiatives to promote a range of arts and cultural programs managed by DAV.
The position will pay an hourly rate of $60/hour and average 15-20 weekly hours guiding marketing efforts for downtown arts-focused venues such as the Denver Performing Arts Complex and McNichols Civic Center Building, Theatre at Loretto Heights, as well as support Denver’s Public Art Program, agency funding opportunities and programs for local artists.
Specifically, as the Marketing and Communications Contractor, you will:
• Provide promotional support for agency venues and programs by maintaining websites, adding events to digital calendars, driving awareness for grants and agency funding opportunities
• Develop strategic marketing plans for arts, venues and cultural programs which consist of: marketing campaigns, event promotion, ticket sales, awareness of grants and artist opportunities, creating content across cultural events and programs, strategic thinking and program communications.
• Implement marketing campaigns and programs aimed to highlight our agency’s “Good Times, For Good” model and the impact generated across Denver communities. This will involve managing timelines and budget, coordinating with internal teammates and partners, collaborating with external agency partners and other community organizations.
• Assist with original content and storytelling: concept or execute content ideas, deploy messaging and storytelling through digital channels.
• Manage website updates across multiple brands in WordPress and other CMS platforms.
• Develop, enhance and revise marketing collateral for web, print, or other media channels.
