Education Development Center Issues Digital RFP

The selected Offeror(s) must design and build a website for the AWARE2 project. The website must allow for audiences to learn more about the AWARE2 project and activities, as well as provides content to the audiences listed in the Background section.

Background:

Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC) is an international nonprofit organization that develops, delivers, and evaluates innovative programs to address some of the world’s most urgent challenges. Our work includes research, training, educational materials and strategy, with activities ranging from seed projects to large-scale initiatives. EDC enjoys a worldwide reputation for its excellence in program and fiscal management and for the impact of its work.

The AWARE2 website is intended to communicate project achievements, best practices, and provide engaging examples of project implementation to the following audiences:

  • Youth enrolled in the AWARE2 project
  • Teachers who are part of the AWARE2 project; teachers who may be interested in sharing the AWARE2 project model within their networks
  • Ministries and local government units in Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand
  • Local and multinational businesses that currently partner with AWARE2; local and multinational businesses that may be interested in partnering with AWARE2
  • Other external audiences

Scope of Work:

EDC is responsible for the implementation of the J.P.Morgan Chase-funded Accelerating Work Achievement and Readiness for Employment 2 (AWARE2) project, which prepares youth in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand for engagement in the digital economy. The AWARE2 project is seeking to develop a website, either custom-designed or based on a WordPress or SquareSpace, that is further customized to meet the project needs.

The selected Offeror(s) must design and build a website for the AWARE2 project. This website may be custom-designed, or it may be built using a WordPress, SquareSpace, or other template, further customized to meet the project’s needs.

The website must allow for audiences to learn more about the AWARE2 project and activities, as well as provides content to the audiences listed in the Background section.

  1. These site maps and wire-frames are intended as references; in response to this RFP, the Offeror must provide either:

1) a WordPress or SquareSpace template that will be further customized and a list of customization’s; or

2) a site map and content listing for a custom-designed site.

Overall Look and Feel

The website must include landing pages and content pages for each audience and these pages must include project developed assets such as videos and photos. The selected Offeror(s) must provide a high-quality and consistent design with unifying elements across the different portions of the site to connect the assets and reinforce the identity of the website. The selected Offeror(s) must provide a visual framework and approach to navigation that will allow the target user groups to select the level of depth they want to explore. More important than written content, ease of use, the look and feel of the website, including aspects of design, colors, shapes, graphical layout, and typefaces (the look), as well as the behavior of dynamic elements   such as buttons, boxes, and menus (the feel), must convey site content.

Site Components

For illustrative designs and site map, please refer to Annex A. The illustrative designs and features/content listed under Site Components are not intended as a comprehensive and complete listing.

The website must contain the following features and content types. A navigation menu must appear on all pages. Assets will be provided by EDC:

  • A “Home Page” page that showcases findings from across the three countries of implementation. The “Home Page” will include:

o Partner links/logos

o Video player

o Image file(s)

  • An “About Us” page which includes a summary of the goals and objectives of the AWARE2 project. The “About Us” page will include:

o Partner links/logos

o Image file(s)

  • An “AWARE 2 in the News” page that includes a listing of news items (URLs and PDF uploads). The “AWARE2 in the News” page will include:

o Partner links/logos

o Image file(s)

o Content listing for news items; news items may be external links and/or pdf uploads. The display shall include a short description of each news item

  • A “Contact Us” footer visible on all pages which provides contact information for the AWARE2
