Pendulum Launches Agentic AI for PR

Social listening is hitting a wall. Conversations have spilled past text into audio, video, and image, across more than two dozen platforms and dozens of languages. The dashboards built for the last decade weren't built for that.

Pendulum Intelligence wants to be the answer. The Seattle-based platform announced today the launch of an agentic AI suite — its biggest product expansion to date — built to move communications teams from tracking to acting.

The centerpiece is Ask Pendulum, a conversational interface powered by what the company calls the Pendulum Agent — an orchestrator running a stack of specialized agents underneath. The pitch: instead of pulling reports manually, comms teams ask a question and the agents handle discovery, analysis, and executive-ready output, with confidence scoring attached.

Pendulum claims early enterprise customers have cut reporting time by up to 93%. Whether that figure holds across the broader market is the question every PR tech buyer should be asking.

Three Pillars

The release groups the agents into three workflows. Trend Discovery synthesizes social signals into narrative maps, surfacing topics in their early-growth phase. Agentic Monitoring scans billions of multi-format conversations in near-real time, routing brand-safety and pre-viral signals into Slack, Teams, or ticketing systems. Digest produces presentation-ready executive briefs on a 24/7 cycle.

"For years, communications teams have been blocked from taking swift, strategic action by the sheer drag of data collection and analysis," said Mark Listes, Pendulum's CEO and co-founder. "We're throwing out static, cumbersome social listening tools."

The Data Layer

The differentiator Pendulum leans on is its data ingestion model. The platform indexes text, audio, video, and visual content across 25-plus channels and 75-plus languages — built on proprietary ingestion rather than the surface-level API connections most legacy listening tools rely on.

That matters because the conversational shift is real. Audio, video, and image now carry narratives that text-only tools simply miss. A brand crisis brewing in a podcast clip or a TikTok stitch will not show up in keyword dashboards built for tweets.

The Bigger Shift

Pendulum is one data point in a structural move across PR tech: dashboards are giving way to autonomous agents. The pitch is no longer "see your data faster." It's "the agent already looked, already drafted, already routed it."

Every major listening, monitoring, and analytics vendor is now building toward this. Pendulum is moving early. Whether agentic AI lives up to the time-savings claims across the category will be the story of the next 18 months in communications tooling.

For PR teams measuring Citation Share and reputation risk across an answer-engine era, the calculus is shifting. The teams that integrate agentic intelligence into their workflow will move faster than the ones still pulling weekly slides.
