Pro-Bono PR Firm Sought for NYC Non-Profit

Bridging Education & Art Together

NYC based nonprofit organization, Bridging Education & Art Together (www.beatnyc.org), an organization serving under-privileged youth across New York City is seeking a Public Relations company willing to do pro-bono work for them.

Their mission is to transform the lives of our students through culturally relevant art, music, and dance programs. They offer programs teaching poetry and spoken word, beatboxing, and Bboying/Bgirling (Breakdancing), and programs are taught by some of the most talented and influential teaching artists of today.

The programs  offered are:

  •  Beat Rockers, a beatboxing program for blind and visually impaired students at the Lavelle School for the Blind in the Bronx.
  •  Beat Rhymers, an after-school creative writing, poetry, spoken-word, self-expression and music composition class.
  •  Beat Breakers, an after-school Bboy/Bgirl (breakdance) program currently offered at the Taylor Wythe Homes (Williamsburg, Brooklyn).
  •  Beat Makers, an after-school music production, career development and song composition program offered at the East Side Community High School in Manhattan.

BEAT has been chosen to give a presentation at TED@State Street on November 3rd, and are currently seeking to harness this momentum in efforts to widely expand our impact through developments in Beat Rockers Program. This past summer, Beat Rockers instructors have been hard at work crafting a full-length curriculum guide that fuses music education and speech therapy, offering groundbreaking teaching methods to practitioners in both fields.

This program has all the tools and innovation necessary to radically shift the world of speech therapy and, in turn, transform the lives of thousands of disabled students with time-tested methods for empowerment and self-expression.
