RBB Communications: PR Firm Profile

As the self-proclaimed “Champion of Breakout Brands,” RBB Communications has indeed proven that it’s worthy of the distinction. The Miami-based agency tailors its PR, advertising, digital, and creative marketing strategies for each individual client, and this special attention has garnered the firm many accolades. So well-received is “breakout brands” that the firm even trademarked it. Besides creating a slogan, rbb published a white paper on breakout brands to better explain their theory and how they help clients achieve success.

One key to success that rbb cites is the research it conducts for each client. Through their proprietary research, rbb says it can then discover valuable and necessary insights that allow the agency to customize strategies that deliver bottom-line results for their clients.

What’s Different?

Just about every agency says it tailors its strategy for each client. What makes rbb different than most agencies is that in addition to its billable time, rbb sets aside 10% courtesy hours monthly to further help clients grow their business. It also assigns an owner or investor of the agency to lead each account as well as naming a permanent senior leader to ensure continuity of service on an ongoing basis.

Leadership

Christine Barney, APR, is not only the CEO and managing partner of rbb, but she’s also the author of the Breakout Brand strategy. Barney moved to Florida from New York after a successful PR career.

Barney’s active in the community. She’s immediate past chair of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce whose members employ more than 400,000 people, on the board of the Alliance of M&A Advisors Miami Chapter, a member of the Council of PR Firms, and past president of the Miami Chapter of PRSA. She was also the recipient of the 2016 Bill Adams PRSA Lifetime Achievement Award.

Her innovative management style has also been recognized through several best places to work awards. One was from the Sun Sentinel, a Fort Lauderdale daily newspaper, and another from the South Florida Business Journal. Reviews on glassdoor give the firm 4.5 out of five stars and Barney a 100% CEO approval rating.
