Richmond Redevelopment & Housing Authority Issues RFP For Public Affairs/Media Relations Firm

Purpose:

The purpose and intent of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit sealed proposals to establish a term contract with one or more qualified contractors through competitive negotiations for Public Affairs/Media Relations services for Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority (RRHA). RRHA reserves the right to make multiple awards.

Background:

The Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority (RRHA) was established by City Council of the City of Richmond, Virginia (the City), in October 1940 as a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. RRHA is responsible for operating affordable housing programs, which provides housing for eligible families, for operating redevelopment and conservation programs in accordance with the City’s Master Plan and for the delivery of services to citizens of low income housing and urban renewal areas through the encouragement and development of social and economic opportunities. The Board of Commissioners of RRHA is appointed by City Council.

Scope of Work:

The Contractor(s) shall furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials and incidentals necessary to provide Public Affairs/Media Relations professional services for RRHA. The contractor(s) shall be expected to develop and implement communications and public relations strategies that increase the public’s awareness of its activities and initiatives; enhance its image among key stakeholders; and maximize media opportunities in local, national and international media markets in Richmond, VA.

Scope of work shall include communications consultations to CEO and Board of Directors.

Activities to include:

  1. Developing an internal and external communications plan.
  2. Assisting in presentation materials to stakeholders.
  3. Managing media relations.
  4. Developing strategies to be effective in social media.
  5. Communications with residents and employees
  6. Other services as required by RRHA.
