San Diego Government Seeks Lobbying Agency
San Diego Association of Governments – SANDAG is seeking a lobbying firm to “effectively interact with Congress; the Executive branch of the United States government; and other Departments of the United States Government including but not limited to the Departments of Commerce, Transportation, State, Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection, and General Services Administration. The selected firm or individual(s) also will represent and effectively advocate the interests of SANDAG for this Project to the Embassy of Mexico in Washington, D.C. and counterpart agencies in Mexico such as SCT, SAT, and SRE.”
SANDAG is a legislatively created regional government agency that provides technical and informational resources as well as planning and development of regional infrastructure for the area’s 18 incorporated cities and the county government, who collectively formed the “ Association of Governments. ” SANDAG also serves as the federally designated metropolitan planning organization and Regional Transportation Commission for the region. Through SANDAG, local governments work together to solve current problems and plan for the future. SANDAG builds consensus, makes strategic plans, obtains and allocates resources, constructs infrastructure and provides information on a broad range of topics pertinent to the San Diego region’s quality of life.
SANDAG is proposing to finance and develop SR 11 and the Otay Mesa East POE, including other connected facilities and the Project. The Otay Mesa East POE will be located approximately two miles east of the existing Otay Mesa POE. Caltrans is overseeing the environmental documentation for the Project and construction of SR 11. SANDAG will be overseeing the development and construction of the Otay Mesa East POE, SR 11 toll operations, and financing for the Project, as well as feasibility analyses and other related facilities and roadways that could contribute to the success of the Project.
Budget for said agency will be $140,000 to $180,000. Proposals are due March 3 to:
