Town of Mayerthorpe Issues Creative RFP

Town of Mayerthorpe is requesting proposals that meets and exceeds the requirements of RFP from PR firms interested in the creation of a new visual identity (logo/tagline/related graphic elements, and a website) for use by the Town of Mayerthorpe that is representative of the community. The goals are to have an end product that markets our unique community qualities using a new modern look while enhancing functionality.

The development logo designs for presentation to Town Council and Administration as well as the public for feedback and final selection. The logo will be used on print media (business cards, letterhead, posters, print ads, reports, etc.), digital media (website, social media platforms, online ads, etc.), signage, banners, and fabric applications. The logo must be representative of the community. It will also differentiate the municipality from the other like municipalities in the area.

Scope of Work:

The Town operates a web site (www.mayerthorpe.ca) as part of its communication and marketing strategies. The current platform support model will need to be assessed as to whether it can support a more modern website.

  1. www.mayerthorpe.ca is used as a portal to provide municipal information, promote the community, and provide Council with secure access to meeting agenda packages. The website was updated (redesigned with new content, improved functionality, improved image, improved security, and improved communication) in 2014 utilizing the existing platform.
  2. The project to be undertaken is to redesign and/or a migration of the current site data within the existing platform or into a new platform with increased and enhanced functionality and will include SEO optimization. Responses for this request will include two (2) scenarios:

A) Complete rebuild including a new look and functionality enhancements of the current site to a platform to be recommended by the proponent.

B) Basic migration of current site to a new platform with little or no functionality enhancements.

The successful proponent will be required to conduct consultations involving the Council the employees and the community members, at which the website review and design, draft logo designs and draft tag lines will be shared and the opportunity for feedback provided. Additionally, there will be a final presentation at a board meeting held at the Town of Mayerthorpe council chambers. The proponent will also be responsible for developing an implementation plan for the visual identity in consultation with the Economic Development/ Communications Officer and CAO.
