The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently implementing a project “Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN)” that requires the services of an individual to perform the work described  in this document.

Section 1. Overview of the Assignment 

Implementation of the Biodiversity Finance Initiative project (hereafter BIOFIN project) in Georgia was initiated in 2016. The project is executed in close cooperation with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia(MEPA).

The global Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) aims to develop and implement a methodology for quantifying the biodiversity finance gap at national level, for improving cost-effectiveness through mainstreaming of biodiversity into national development and sectoral planning, and for developing comprehensive national finance plans. 

In 2022, BIOFIN supported National Forestry Agency to intensify partnership with private sector to enhance sustainable forest management in the country. As a result, the brand ‘ForestFriend’ was created with its brand book and digital channels: website, YouTube channel, as well as Facebook and Instagram pages. After working on the main document of the brand, a communication strategy document and a plan of communication activities were created.

A web-based platform, www.forestfriend.ge allows interested parties to get engaged in various activities in different forms. The platform is used as a communication tool and provides an opportunity for voluntary targeted donations and organized activities. 

As a result of finance solution implementation, the web-based platform provided a) Donating options b) Options for organized voluntary activities. Based on the communication plan and an intense outreach/marketing campaign the platform ‘Forest Friend’ was introduced and promoted for voluntary donations and engagements. 

The project seeks to engage a skilled and knowledgeable Digital Marketing Manager, Web and Social Media Content Designer, Creator and Adds Manager, who will provide technical support, fine content and adds plan to BIOFIN Project and NFA with the (a) management of the webpage and socialmedia platform (Facebook), (b) actual content development of marketing and promotional materials (including posts, banners, texts etc.), (c) digital content advertising through digital platforms.

The aim of the current assignment is to: (a) develop a plan for digital activity campaign with NFA, (b) develop a content, mainly designing posters separately for web-page and social media platforms (c) content placement and digital advertising.

For achieving these goals, the following activities are expected to be carried out by the contractor:

a) Digital activity plan – Conduct consultation meetings with the relevant stakeholders (BIOFIN team, MEPA, NFA etc.); Develop and present Digital marketing activity plan for at least 2 upcoming years (2025-2026); Increase the web-page visitors and Facebook page likes through the advertising campaigns; 

b) Implement content marketing – Provide the platforms with related content, create relevant content and visual material (posters and post) designs for web-page and social media marketing campaign. Use a content calendar to plan and organize content creation and distribution. Materials should be provided according to the guidelines created for the Forest Friend brand. 

c) Advertising – Web-page content as well as social media platform postsshould be advertised through meta and google ads. The goal is to increase project supporters and donations. 

d) Cross-functional Collaboration – Work closely with NFA staff, public relations, Forest Friend platform management and other departments to ensure a unified approach to brand messaging and customer engagement. Provide on-the-job trainings to the relevant NFA staff by guiding them through the use and maintenance of the platform and equipping them with the necessary skills, tools, and knowledge to execute and adapt marketing strategies effectively, ensuring they gain hands-on experience and proficiency and ensure sustainability of the Forest Friend
