42West Hires Joe Quenqua as Managing Director in Los Angeles Office
Joe Quenqua, formerly of DKC L.A. office is joining 42West in a new office being established in Los Angeles with bicoastal duties working on digital and filmed content as well as live events. With DKC he oversaw their national entertainment practice as EVP including the agency’s 2015 launch of DKC/O&M which was established to work on Broadway and live events. Quenqua has a history with one of 42West’s co-CEOs (Dart) when they both worked at PMK, but he also worked at mPRm Public Relations where he was a VP of film, and at Disney for 11 years.
Lisa Schmidtke Will be Allison+Partners’ New GM at their Phoenix Office
It’s a promotion for Lisa Schmidtke, moving from being a senior VP with the agency up to being in charge of their Phoenix location. Schmidtke will report to the president of Allison’s All Told – their digital and content division, Cathy Planchard who filled the position until Schmidtke took over in June. Schmidtke oversees 20 employees and will be in charge of the business operations, new business development, budget management, employee relations, and client services for the Arizona location. But she will be particularly focused on their healthcare, tech, and hospitality efforts.
Schmidtke has been with Allison since 2015 where she started as a vice president. She has worked with clients such as Partnership with Native Americans, UPMC Enterprises, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona. Her previous employment history includes working as a marketing director at Tenet Healthcare and a PR manager for Cold Stone Creamery.
BerlinRosen Brings David Levine in to Fill New COO Position For Finance, Operations, and HR
Former top aide for both President Obama and Hillary Clinton, David Levine, is joining BerlinRosen as their first Finance, HR, and Operations Functions Chief Operating Officer. He previously oversaw over 230 people as the White House chief of staff, so managing the 110 staffers with BerlinRosen will be an easy transition. Other experience includes being deputy COO for Clinton while running for president, national director of operations for the DNC, and deputy COO for M+R Strategic Services.
Harold Burson Awarded President’s Medal by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations
Founding Chairman of Burson-Marsteller, Harold Burson, was honored by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) with their President’s Medal as recognition for having “shaped contemporary public relations more than any person alive today. His contribution has been to set the template for the public relations agency as a global business, creating bright horizons for the practice as it grows worldwide in the 21st century.” Accepting on Burson’s behalf was Bob Leaf, former International Chairman of B-M at the London annual general meeting of CIPR. Past recipients of the honor include Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, Edward Bernays, Sir Richard Branson, HRH Prince Philip, and HRH Princess Anne.
