Elections Canada, Regional Media Advisors Issued a Public Relations RFP for the following scope of work:
- Answer media queries submitted by phone and email, using pre-approved information (media lines, backgrounders, web content, etc.) that will be supplied by the Technical Authority
- make proactive media calls to pitch stories or provide clarifications
- when a media query cannot be answered using existing approved content, research a response and/or pass the query on to ECHQ permanent staff according to approval protocols outlined by the Technical Authority
- record and evaluate requests for interviews
- as permitted under approval protocols established by the Technical Authority, conduct media interviews for print, online, radio and television broadcast
- log all media requests on the template provided
- compile statistics and reports on media requests and coverage
- Participate in on-site training at ECHQ or in the Ottawa–Gatineau area.
- draft news releases, media advisories, media lines, communication strategies and/or other media-related documents
- provide media relations and strategic communications advice
- Organize and deliver media relations training to EC officials, FLOs, ROs and election officers. This may include, but is not limited to, interview preparation and crisis communications training
- provide advertising placement advice or assist in placing advertising in national and/or regional media
- produce and deliver to the Technical Authority a daily field report on regional and national media issues
