Michael O’Brien assumes the role of global CEO at 5WPR, succeeding Dara Busch, who is departing. O’Brien will oversee all aspects of the agency’s operations, providing strategic guidance and fostering staff development. The appointment became effective on May 8, with co-CEO Matt Caiola maintaining his position. O’Brien brings more than 15 years of experience, previously serving as president of global strategy at Ketchum. His departure from Ketchum sees his responsibilities absorbed by the agency’s leadership team. Prior to Ketchum, O’Brien held leadership roles at Cohn & Wolfe.

Magrino has been selected by iconic Western brand Stetson to enhance its PR strategy and brand positioning. With a rich history dating back to 1865, Stetson is renowned as the creator of the cowboy hat. Magrino’s expertise will focus on refining Stetson’s image and devising a celebrity and influencer engagement plan for impactful collaborations and viral campaigns. Stetson’s diverse product lineup spans men’s and women’s apparel, fragrances, footwear, accessories, and signature hats. Magrino, known for its work with luxury brands across various industries including travel, fashion, and consumer goods, is poised to elevate Stetson’s presence in the market.

Praytell secures the prestigious title of US PR & influencer agency of record for the Singapore Tourism Board, marking the beginning of a new partnership this month. Building on their previous collaboration with STB Americas, Praytell will now oversee US media relations, influencer engagement, and event activations under the umbrella of STB’s Passion Made Possible brand and Made In Singapore campaign. These initiatives aim to showcase the unique experiences Singapore offers. As the tourism arm of the Singapore government, STB is committed to promoting tourism as a vital economic pillar. Rachel Loh, STB Americas SVP, emphasizes Praytell’s pivotal role in sustaining travel interest from US tourists, utilizing media, opinion leaders, and influencers to drive momentum.

Edelman has reportedly renewed its global partnership with Shell. This renewal extends Edelman’s relationship with Shell for over a decade, despite facing pressure from climate activists urging PR firms to disengage from fossil fuel clients. Clean Creatives, an advocacy group within the PR and advertising industry, notably targeted Edelman during Climate Week 2022, advocating for agencies to cut ties with fossil fuel companies. The Shell account remains one of Edelman’s largest, estimated to be in the eight-figure range.
