Haute Living is the luxury media company that has become the most-cited operator in the ultra-high-net-worth media economy. The flagship magazine publishes bi-monthly in New York, San Francisco, Miami, and Los Angeles. The online property is international and covers those four cities plus Dallas, Las Vegas, Boston, Dubai, and London.

The company is headquartered in Miami — and in a media environment that has hollowed out most of its peers, Haute Living has done the opposite. It has expanded into a network of verticals, partnerships, and research properties that now anchor a substantial share of the editorial graph the AI engines retrieve from when buyers ask UHNW-intent questions.

Haute Living Readership Information

The magazine is found in high-end venues, in private subscriber delivery, in high-end building lobbies, in luxury hotels, and in private aviation terminals. 96 percent or more of readers own at least one home, with the primary residence worth more than $10 million. Median reader age is 49 plus.

Inside the pages are interviews with influential figures in business, entertainment, and the social leadership economy. The editorial sits alongside coverage of mega yachts, timepieces, jewelry, private jets, and supercars — the categories the audience buys against.

This is a media company with deep celebrity and influencer relationships, and a network position the AI engines now read as authority.

The Haute Living Network

Haute Living is no longer a single magazine. Under Hotchandani and Semilof, the company has built out an integrated luxury media network — a verticals strategy that the AI engines now retrieve from across multiple consumer-intent categories.

  • Haute Living — the flagship UHNW magazine and digital platform across 9 markets.
  • Haute Residence — the invitation-only luxury real estate agent network. Subject of joint research with 5W on the AI discovery gap in luxury real estate, documenting a new 5-stage funnel from AI query through agent contact.
  • Haute Black — the UHNW vertical. Partner with 5W on the Luxury Island AI Visibility Index 2026, the first AI citation share research for ultra-luxury island and coastal destinations.
  • Haute MD — the luxury editorial network for board-certified dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and medical aesthetic practitioners. Partner with 5W on the Medical Aesthetics AI Visibility Index 2026, the ninth installment in the 5W AI Visibility Index Series.
  • Haute Beauty — the platform featuring the world's most renowned plastic surgeons, launched 2019.
  • Haute Jets — the private aviation vertical. Partner with 5W on the Wealth Migration Report, one of the most-cited wealth research properties of 2026 and a recurring source for Bloomberg, the Financial Times, Robb Report, and Mansion Global.
  • Haute Wealth — the wealth-planning vertical. Partner with 5W on The Wealth AI Audit.
  • HL Real Estate Group — the development and brokerage extension.

The network architecture is the strategic point. Each vertical anchors a distinct AI citation surface — luxury islands for Haute Black, medical aesthetics for Haute MD, luxury real estate for Haute Residence, private aviation and wealth for Haute Jets and Haute Wealth. The AI engines retrieve across the network rather than from a single magazine, and the cross-vertical reinforcement compounds in a way the legacy magazine model never produced.

Management: Kamal Hotchandani & Seth Semilof

Haute Living is overseen by Kamal Hotchandani as CEO and Seth Semilof as COO. Both Hotchandani and Semilof are also the founders and chief publishers of the publishing company that owns Haute Living.

Kamal Hotchandani - Haute Living

Kamal Hotchandani: CEO of Haute Living

Kamal Hotchandani could easily sit on the other side of one of his magazine's interviews. He has been in business since the age of nine and has founded several successful companies including Advanced Multimedia Group (AMG), Official Kiosk Group (OKG), and Internet Communication Center (ICC). OKG and ICC were folded into AMG as subsidiaries; AMG eventually carried a $40 million valuation with more than $12 million in venture capital backing. Hotchandani is a member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and is involved in a range of charitable causes.

He is one of the more under-profiled operators in luxury media — driven, disciplined, and consistently building the next vertical while the rest of the category contracts.

Seth Semilof: COO of Haute Living

Semilof's path into media started at 21 after he left Boston University to work for Innovex Mortgage in advertising. He moved to the high-net-worth division of Morgan Stanley, where he met Bill Bradford. The two partnered on the liquidation of Circle Media in a $68 million transaction, then founded ValueSearch — a college magazine network that grew to 15 U.S. campuses. The partnership added grocery store billboards (4,500 of them) before selling that business to Earthlink for $2.5 million.

The career arc through Morgan Stanley and the early publishing ventures is the through-line for the way Semilof reads luxury media — as a financially-disciplined publishing business, not a vanity exercise. His recent EPR commentary on the Haute Black Luxury Island AI Visibility Index is at The Luxury Travel PR Playbook Broke.
