KENT COUNTY PURCHASING DIVISION

INTRODUCTION
The Kent County Purchasing Division is soliciting proposals to provide mentorship, guidance, and education to Veterans with the goal of creating art exhibits to be displayed at the Veterans Memorial Park ArtPrize 2.0 venue during ArtPrize 2.0 2024 for Kent County Veterans Services (KCVS). The funding for the mentorship program is available October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024.
SCOPE
KCVS has successfully engaged Veterans to participate in 2021, 2022 and the upcoming 2023 ArtPrize 2.0. They would like to continue to mentor, support and provide healing through creativity and community to Veterans throughout the State of Michigan. The selected contractor will provide the following services, as detailed below:
• Research and provision of space for Veterans to showcase artwork during ArtPrize 2.0 2024.
• Communication and collaboration with Grand Rapids Parks Department and ArtPrize 2.0 2024 to ensure sufficient, feasible, and accepted exhibition space will be provided for display and exhibition of artwork created by Veterans selected for the program.
• Contractor will provide outreach within the veteran community to recruit Veterans to participate in the program.
• Contractor will connect Veterans with art equipment vendors and supplies.
• Contractor will provide mentorship with each veteran selected for the program to develop, create, display, and communicate ideas through artistic mediums.
• Contractor will provide media access, press releases, communications with local officials, and community outreach to publicize and raise awareness of the program.
• Contractor will develop an “opening event” ceremony on the first day of ArtPrize 2.0 2024.
• Contractor will provide sufficient staffing and management during the installation of all artwork created in connection with this program.
• Contractor will provide sufficient staffing and management during ArtPrize 2.0 2024 public exhibition dates.
All services provided by Contractor will pursue the goal of fostering veteran-created art to be displayed during ArtPrize 2.0 2024.
Kent County will award and contract for the goods and services in this Solicitation in an efficient and timely manner. In no event will notification of award be more than 45 days from the date of submission.
The Kent County Standard Submission Terms posted on the Bid Opportunities page of the Kent County Purchasing Division website are incorporated by reference and shall be deemed to have the same force and effect as if fully set forth herein.
