The Publicity Agency Creating Mini PR Campaign for Kazakhstan

In 2007, Glenn Selig founded The Publicity Agency, which is based in Tampa with additional offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Washington DC. When Selig made a recent trip to Kazakhstan, he was expecting something different than what he found. Since he, like many other moviegoers, had watched the Borat movie about ten years ago, he was expecting a backward and possibly agrarian culture. Not so. In fact, Selig said: “It [the movie] was so absurdly different than what the country really is.”

When he returned to the states, Selig felt compelled to do something about that image, and so he contacted the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Republic of Kazakhstan, Erlan Idrissov, telling him he wanted to create a mini PR campaign called KazakSTANDING STRONG, extolling the virtues of that country.
