Originally published October 2020. Merged and edited on Jul 7, 2026.

Alexei Orlov is the founder and Global CEO of MTM (Moments that Matter), a marketing and communications holding group he launched in 2017 after more than two decades in senior brand and marketing roles at Volvo, Volkswagen, Avon, and Omnicom's DAS.

MTM operates across New York, Los Angeles, London, Milan, and Shanghai. Its four agencies — Local Projects, Camron PR, Syndicate Sub Rosa, and NOM — service more than 120 clients across brand activation, media optimization, experience design, and content. The group has developed two proprietary AI-driven platforms, NOMads and Empath.io, that sit inside its agency stack.

Career

Before founding MTM, Orlov served as senior advisor to the CEO and chairman of DAS, Omnicom Group's international division. He led brand and marketing strategy for the Volkswagen portfolio across ASEAN and Greater China as part of the company's regional executive team, with joint responsibility for commercial performance across the region.

He was global brand communications director at Volvo Cars and marketing director at Volvo UK during a period when the UK market was the second-largest national sales company inside the Volvo Corporation.

Earlier in his career, Orlov owned two brand-strategy consultancies, MCW and ROCQM. He was appointed marketing director at Avon Cosmetics Retail Europe as the youngest executive to hold a director-level role at the company. He was a founding member of the Paperchase Retail Group.
