Hill+Knowlton Strategies has advanced Andy Weitz, U.S. Chief Operating Officer, to co-chair of the agency’s Global Corporate Advisory Practice. The transition serves the drive to increase clients with high-level corporate services internationally, particularly in developing and rapidly-growing markets. Weitz will focus on developing corporate services for H+K Strategies’ clients in the U.S. region, while Vice Chair, Andrew Laurence, will focus on international markets.
Weitz and Laurence will be jointly responsible for creating new products and strategic services to address changing client needs and leading the internal training and advancement of corporate practitioners across H+K. Jack Martin, global chairman and CEO of H+K Strategies shares:
“In today’s business environment, an empowered public with 24/7 access to information has forced the communications industry to redefine itself. Andy is one of our most trusted C-suite counselors and an emerging thought leader in this space. He understands how to build communications strategies that drive real business value for our clients. His innovative perspective on corporate reputation, coupled with Andrew’s international experience, will position us for even greater success as corporate advisors.”
Weitz has spearheaded several crisis engagements and high-profile transactions throughout his tenure with the firm. In addition, he created many of the consulting and measurement tools that have become central to H+K’s reputation management methodology. Weitz served as senior strategist at Public Strategies, Inc. and led the firm’s integration with Hill & Knowlton in early 2011 before becoming U.S. Chief Operating Officer. His earlier experiences include president of gDev, a division of Trilogy, Inc. and a senior vice president at Marsh, Inc.
Weitz will now report to Vice Chair of Global Practices, Vivian Lines and work closely with regional leadership and general managers to provide support to the firm’s client leads and new business efforts. H+K’s Corporate Advisory Group, which the firm launched this February, will continue to operate alongside the Global Corporate Advisory Practice, offering multidisciplinary strategic advice to C-suite clients.
