Digital Tourism RFP Issued For Chandler
The City of Chandler is interested in retaining a qualified, creative firm to develop and provide digital marketing services for various City departments and divisions. Each department will have its own unique contact and manager for various campaigns. This solicitation for digital marketing services is being conducted to seek and retain a contractor that can simultaneously run various digital advertising for Chandler’s municipal departments. The goal is to begin work on the project in 2022 and continue the program for up to four (4) one-year renewal options with potential for adjustments in budget, organizational goals, target markets, etc
Chandler, AZ encompasses 72 square miles in southeast Maricopa County and is a prominent suburb of Phoenix, Arizona. It is bordered to the north and west by Tempe, to the north by Mesa, and to the west by Phoenix and to the south by the Gila River Indian Community. Scope of Work:
Strategy: Work with assigned staff to collaborate on a digital strategy to develop, execute and track results against the City of Chandler and Tourism Strategic Plans, based on department needs. Creative: Produce creative with strong and attainable recommendations for consideration. Develop approved digital advertising elements to deploy on behalf of the City of Chandler and city departments such as Visit Chandler and Communications and Public Affairs. City of Chandler staff have b-roll, edited videos, photos and graphic elements available for use in campaigns.
Media: Develop digital campaigns for each target market and provide insights on emerging trends and new media to continually evolve and reach target audience.
Reporting & Analytics: Regular reporting to include a mid-campaign and end of campaign wrapup report, including screenshots of all assets, executive summary of key takeaways that include qualitative and quantitative results mapping to larger objectives and dashboard of goal performance.
ANTICIPATED PROJECTS Part I – Visit Chandler The Economic Development Division at the City of Chandler manages a multi-layered tourism marketing campaign that supports the City of Chandler’s Tourism Strategic Plan to promote Chandler as a preferred travel destination for leisure and business travel. The City’s tourism office, Visit Chandler, is seeking the services of an agency or individual well versed in digital marketing. The selected vendor will provide recommendations, create, implement, manage and report on targeted, digital campaigns. The digital campaign will be crafted with the intent to drive increased visitation to Chandler, Arizona and will be deployed on a seasonal basis and to target markets. Currently, there are 33 hotels and one resort in Chandler. Most properties that operate in Chandler are nationally branded hotel properties in the extended stay and select service market with only a handful offering significant meeting space. Primary attractions that draw travelers and enhance Chandler’s appeal to group and business travelers include a downtown district, Chandler Fashion Center, annual events, outdoor recreational activities, ease of access to regional assets and attractions in metropolitan Phoenix and Chandler’s location to PHX Sky Harbor International Airport and I-10.
The Chandler market is very seasonal, peak season is February – March and off peak is summer. Shoulder season is typically January, May, November, and December. The tourism program produces an annual visitor guide to promote the community to potential travelers and maintains a tourism website, www.VisitChandler.comwhich also contains a digital meeting and event guide.
