On Friday Edelman, the world’s largest public relations firm, announced having named Florence Baranes-Cohen the very first Director General of Edelman France.
In the news from Paris, Baranes-Cohen comes to Edelman via a seven year committment to the Carrefour Group as their group communications director. Having built a reputation as one of the leading communications experts in France, Baranes-Cohen now heads one of Edelman’s top four offices in the critical EMEA region.
Significant investments by Edelman in the Paris office mark the importance of this latest people move by the world’s most respected PR company.
Edelman bolsters the company’s stated commitment to see the Paris operations expand with this new appointment, as well as via this statement from Robert Phillips, president and CEO, Edelman EMEA:
“Florence is an important hire for Edelman and she will take the French office to the next level. Our clients will benefit from her broad experience, particularly in the consumer, corporate and digital space. The reputation and respect she commands will ensure France continues the double-digit growth we have enjoyed over the past few years. Florence began her professional career with Sopexa after gaining her DESS (Post-graduate diploma). A further seven years promoting French agri-food expertise around the world, and then joining the Carrefour group to manage communications there, Baranes-Cohen played a vital role for Carrefour.
