Scope: A. Social Media Content Creation & Management
The selected firm will provide Downtown Pittsboro-focused social media strategy and content creation, which may include Instagram, Facebook, and other appropriate platforms. The Town’s goal is to post one original post per week to include reels and still photography.
Services may include content strategy development, original photography and video, graphic design, copywriting, promotion of downtown businesses and events, coordination with Town staff and partners, and community engagement.
B. Event Marketing & Promotion
The Town seeks marketing support for downtown events led by third party groups. The Town’s aim is to increase the visibility of these events to promote economic vitality in downtown and Pittsboro as a whole. We see this as an on-call option for each downtown event. The approach could include social media posts, flyer creation, graphic design, or other options that would increase visitor traffic.
C. Economic Development & Business Recruitment Marketing
Respondents will support economic development goals through messaging and materials that highlight downtown market opportunities, business success stories, and Pittsboro’s unique character. Deliverables may include digital content, video, and print-ready materials for recruitment efforts.
In addition, the Town is interested in an editable business recruitment brochure that highlights the Town’s strengths and opportunities in both Downtown, and the Town as a whole. Examples could be recruiting retail for downtown, a boutique hotel, and large employment opportunities.
D. Wayfinding & Signage Design Manual
The selected firm will develop a Downtown Pittsboro Wayfinding and Signage Design Manual to guide future implementation. The manual should include a wayfinding strategy, visual design standards, sample sign types, and guidelines for consistency and expansion.
E. Experiential Storytelling & Video Content
A key component of this RFP is experience-based storytelling that illustrates how people can enjoy Downtown Pittsboro.
Video and supporting content should demonstrate: a Downtown date night; a Saturday afternoon experience; and a full weekend itinerary. Content should be authentic, cinematic, and inviting, rather than scripted advertising. We see the single day experiences as a 30-second video and the weekend video up to 1-minute but are open to other options as well.
