Conscious Crowdsourcing Report Released by Weber Shandwick

The recently released Conscious Crowdsourcing report is the fourth report in a group of five researched and presented (or to be presented) by Weber Shandwick (WS). All five reports are part of their Innovation Trends Report series. The current report sheds light on how organizations can make an impact by engaging, equipping, and empowering those with the power to make changes in our society such as researchers, global citizens, and policy makers. The series of reports is focused on building awareness and dialog relating to the increasing Solution Economy.

The report yet to be released explores Inclusive Global Economies and necessary steps to accomplish the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. The three ones that have already been released are Networked Smart Cities, Always-On Transparency, and Purpose-Driven Data. The information was first released in March 2015, and the last one is scheduled for release around September 2017.

Julie Hootkin and Jim Papa Named Partners at Global Strategy Group

Julie Hootkin, an EVP and leader of corporate rep and public affairs, has been with Global Strategy Group (GSG) for 10 years. In 2016, along with Tanya Meck, she helped launch the corporate impact practice at GSG. Hootkin said of her move to partner: “My role will be to continue to think about new ways to leverage research tools for our work in the communications and public affairs space. From a client perspective, the goal is to ensure we are offering our clients the best understanding of the environment in which they [are] operating in.” Jim Papa, GSG’s DC office leader, joined the firm in 2012. He’ll continue in his current role as well as become a partner.

5WPR Gains New SVP of Finance in John Ferrari

John Ferrari comes to 5WPR with more than 18 years of financial management experience, having previously worked at Hunter Public Relations as CFO and Finance SVP at MWW PR Group. He’ll be in charge of management and development of the division providing financial framework, leadership, and direction regarding policy and procedures, financial reporting, compliance, and business systems. Ferrari earned his BA in international business at the University of Buffalo and his graduate degree in business at Stony Brook State University of New York.

American College of Veterinarian Ophthalmologists Signs AOR with FWV Fetching

FWV Fetching is the French/West/Vaughan’s veterinarian and pet practice and they just re-upped as AOR for ACVO – for the eighth year. They will continue working on all PR initiatives as well as for the AVCO®/StokesRS National Service Animal Eye Exam 10th Annual Event. At the event, they provide free eye exams for animals during the month of May. This year they hope to surpass the 7.400 eye exams they gave away in 2016.

FWV only created their pet division after acquiring Fetching Communications and PetPR.com earlier in 2017. According to Stacee Daniel, ACVO’s executive director, Service Animals are of particular concern when it comes to healthy eyesight. “These animals selflessly serve the public.”

Chris Wood Becomes Chairman at Produce UK

Chris Wood has been serving as a consultant for Produce UK for the last year, and before that, he set up an executive coaching agency (Kelling Wood Associates), was managing director at Cake, and director at Ketchum, Burson-Marsteller, and Porter Novelli. Now’s he’s joined Produce UK full time as their chairman. The move is also connected to other growth in the agency with the appointment of Neil Mortimer.
