Asbury Automotive Group has just announced that they have hired Porter Novelli as their new agency of record. Brad MacAfee of Porter Novelli, will be heading up the company's communications team, handling everything from media relations to social media strategies. The PR firm will also be dealing with internal company communications. They will begin work on Jan. 1st, 2010. “We are thrilled to be named the agency of record for Asbury, and look forward to working with this Fortune 500 company on a broad range of communications initiatives,” said MacAfee. “Asbury’s proactive approach to streamlining and centralizing its business has positioned the company for future growth, and our team at Porter Novelli is excited to help the company capitalize on this leading position.” Asbury Automotive Group is based out of Duluth, Georgia and is one of the nation's largest auto retailers, with over 80 retail stores throughout the country. They have selected Porter Novelli for the company's long history of successful PR projects. The PR firm has offices in more than 60 different countries and has been in business for over 3 decades. “Asbury was looking for a robust combination of resources and fresh ideas to deliver strong results at a strategic and tactical level," said Charles R. Oglesby, Asbury’s president and CEO. “We are excited to have Porter Novelli as our public relations partner and look forward to working together to demonstrate Asbury’s strength in the market.”
