Allen Shapard Named Sr. Director at APCO Worldwide
Allen Shapard brings expertise in entertainment, fashion, and sports marketing, which he gained working at WME/IMG as Sr. VP of global partnerships. His new job with APCO is Sr. Director and chair of public engagement strategies where he will work to increase social impact and corporate responsibility services.
Portland Expanding to Asia-Pacific with Plans to Open Singapore Office
Portland is headquartered in the U.K. with additional offices in New York, DC, Doha, and Nairobi. Now they will add Singapore to their list of offices. The Singapore office will be headed by Jonathan McClory, who has been with the company since late 2014, leaving a boutique firm he founded. Since joining, he launched and led Portland’s place branding area, helping governments and countries create stronger brands worldwide.
Lachlan Badenoch Joins Carmichael Lynch as Chief Strategy Officer
According to Marcus Fischer, president of Carmichael Lynch in Minneapolis, Lachlan Badenoch was hired because of his groundbreaking work while inspiring people on all sides of the PR business. Badenoch left an.torc, which he founded as an independent consultancy, to become the chief strategy officer at Carmichael Lynch. Before an.torc, he worked at Zeus Jones as a senior strategist. While there he worked with clients such as Purina, Nestle, and GMI.
Two Global SABRE Awards Go to Ketchum and Their Clients
The 2016 Global SABRE Awards honored Ketchum for PR campaigns done for their clients. The SABRE Awards are sponsored by the Holmes Report, and were held during the 5th annual global public relations summit in Miami on October 26th. Ketchum received these awards for a Michelin campaign, “Beyond the Driving Test – Michelin Puts Air in Teens’ Tire Awareness,” and one for Fashion Revolution, prepared by BBDO and Ketchum Pleon, “The 2 Euro T-Shirt – A Social Experiment.”
Only the top 40 PR programs in the world during 2016 received honors. The two campaigns for Fashion Revolution and Michelin were ranked seventh and 30th, respectively. Ketchum has received a number of other high PR awards this year including three PRWeek U.S. Awards, three Cannes Lions, three EMEA SABRE Awards, four PRWeek Global Awards, a Silver Clio, and four Silver Anvil Awards.
