Breast Cancer Awareness Month Celebrated With “I Like It” Facebook Statuses

A Facebook meme that celebrates this Breast Cancer Awareness Month puzzles the male community. “I like it on the sofa” a female status update reads. The male friends can only wonder what…

I personally like it on my desk – my handbag, that is.  So, if you wondered what was with the “I like it” messages posted randomly by girls on their Facebook walls today, now you have the answer: it all has to do with their handbags.

It’s a Facebook meme that celebrates this Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it is not the first time the female community on Facebook plays the game. Last year the women updated their statuses with colors signifying the colors of their bras. This year they are simply answering the question: “Where do you like to put your purse?”

The “secret” message they are sending to their Facebook indexes reads:

Remember the game last year about what color bra you were wearing at the moment? The purpose was to increase awareness of October Breast Cancer Awareness month. It was a tremendous success and we had men wondering for days what was with the colors and it made it to the news.

This year’s game has to do with your handbag/purse, where we put our handbag the moment we get home for example “I like it on the couch”, “I like it on the kitchen counter”, “I like it on the dresser” well u get the idea. Just put your answer as your status with nothing more than that and cut n paste this message and forward to all your FB female friends to their inbox.

The bra game made it to the news. Let’s see how powerful we women really are!!! REMEMBER – DO NOT PUT YOUR ANSWER AS A REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE- PUT IT IN YOUR STATUS!!! PASS THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW!!!

To help this meme, I thought the best way to spread the news was to cut’n’paste the message here. October is all about pink!

There are many PR firms who do excellent work surrounding breast cancer.  For example, Coyne represents Breastcancer.org, Ogilvy PR & Edelman have both represented Susan G. Komen.
