JAMES E. ARNOLD JOINS GOULD+PARTNERS AS SENIOR COUNSELOR
Well-known public relations management consultant, James E. Arnold, APR, PRSA member, and CEO of the Arnold Consulting Group, has joined Gould+Partners as a senior counselor, effective June 1, 2015.
Jim has more than 30 years’ experience as a senior marketing and communication executive. Prior to founding his own firm in 1991, he was partner, president and CEO of the renowned Chester Burger & Co. He has served more than 200 of the Fortune 500, as well as numerous government agencies and major nonprofits. He has counseled AOL, AARP, American Airlines, American Bar Association, American Express, Accenture, AT&T—and that’s just a few of the A’s.
Jim has also counseled the top management of numerous PR/PA agencies on business practices, profitability, succession planning, new business development, and M&A. He has helped negotiate some of the biggest agency mergers in the PR/PA industry. Among his specialties are reputation, issue and crisis management; positioning and branding; social responsibility; organizational restructuring; measurement and evaluation; benchmarking; and best practices.
Jim has held many leadership roles in the PR/PA field, including founding trustee of The Museum of Public Relations; member of the executive council of AARP-NY State; member of the board of the National Association of Wine Retailers; and trustee for 17 years of the Arthur W. Page Society. His PRSA activities include honorary trustee of the PRSA Foundation; chair, honors and awards; senior judge, Silver Anvils (19 years) and Best of Silver Anvils (5 years,); chair, national conference committee; and chair, 50th anniversary committee.
Jim has contributed to several key publications that address PR/PA management. Included are “The Handbook of Strategic Public Relations and Integrated Communications,” edited by Clarke Caywood, and “Experts in Action: Inside Public Relations,” edited by Bill Cantor and Chester Burger.
His seminal articles include “Communications and Strategy: The CEO Gets (Gives) the Message” (Public Relations Quarterly); “Issues and Trends” the first study of the size, scope and capabilities of the North American public relations agency business (PRSA Counselors Academy); and “Leadership and Management of Public Relations” (Professional Management Institute).
