Founded in 1993 by Harald Zulauf, MC Group is today considered the number one communications agency in Europe. The firm maintains a worldwide network of over 80 partner agencies across the globe. Clients of the agency receive customized plans in the public and private sectors, including government, international agencies, and market-leading firms.
When it was established, MC Group (known at the time as Media Consulta) specialized in sports. The agency was known for supporting communications for the ATP World Tour tennis tournament, Formula 1, and the 1996 European Football Championship. MC Group was hired by its first political client, the German Bundestag, in 1998.
Since that time, the agency has worked with several clients in the political space, including the Brazilian Foreign Ministry and the United Nations. In 2001, they received a new name (MC Group) and moved headquarters to Berlin with original political client the German Bundestag. The first offices by MC Group outside Europe were opened in New York City and Moscow in 2005.
MC is currently ranked as the number one communications agency in Germany, Europe, and the Middle East. The firm has continental hubs in Africa, the Asian Pacific, Central, and South America, Europe, the Middle East, and North America.
The agency is known for including the European Games in Minsk – 2019, Atlantis the Palm, Incredible India! and Turkish Airlines. MC has also run several events; these include DG Comm – My Region, My Future, European Development Days.
The firm is also responsible for the following advertising campaigns: IRENA, DG Comm – Investment Plan, and San Daniele & Grana Padano. The firm has been responsible for publishing the Tour de France and DG Echo – EU Saves Time. On television and in film production MC Group has produced European Development Days and DG Echo – Educations in Emergencies.
