In front-page news in Indiana, media reports indicate that Porter Novelli one of the world’s largest public relations companies has been fired by the Indiana Economic Development Agency (IEDA). The firm was fired to protect the State following perceived anti-gay religious freedom laws which were passed.

The firm was paid $365,000 for three months of work.

The Governor of Indiana, Mike Pence apparently supported the decision to fire the company. Interestingly, despite working for Indiana, Porter placed rainbow colors on its website last week when same-sex marriage was legalized nationwide – the governor issued a statement opposing it.

Brad MacAfee, Porter Novelli’s North American president, noted “We respect this decision by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) as it recalibrates its resources and spending priorities. We know that the State will continue its efforts to strengthen Indiana’s global brand reputation.”

We invite anyone with more information about this to share it with us and we will report accordingly.
