Public Relations Awards Issued – Big Winners Include Girl Scouts of the USA, MWW, 5WPR & Krupp Kommunicatons

The American Business (ABA) Awards held their annual awards even  in Chicago, and the Public Relations industry saw many winners. The awards issued are called the Stevies® and some have called this the “Grammy Awards” for the business community.

An early review of award-winners indicates that the big winners for the evening included Girl Scouts of the USA, and big winning PR firms included Krupp Kommunications, MWW and 5W Public Relations. It was a glorious nite for the fast growing PR industry.

Some highlights:

The PR Agency of the year Gold award went to entertainment PR heavyweight agency, PMK-BNC.  The company has a long history of helping A-List stars shine.

Silver PR Firm of the year was captured by a handful of leading independently owned firms, including 5W Public Relations of New York, Bhava Communications, a tech firm in California, ICR, Inc., Makovsky & Co, and The MWW Group.

The internal Communications Department of the Year was won by the Girl Scouts of the USA, with their theme award titled “More than Cookies, Camps and Crafts, Girl Scouts Drives 21st Century Conversations around Girls’ Leadership.”

Communications Team of the Year winner was Fortune 500 heavyweight Hewlett Packard, with runner-ups including Digital Risk, Relayware, & Tanis Communications based in Mountain View, CA.

The Arts & Entertainment Gold Award for campaign of the year went to The MWW Group, for their work, entitled “Turning the Daytime Emmy® Awards into Must Watch TV.”  Bacardi Limited won the campaign of the year for their work surrounding a campaign entitled, “Good Spirited: Building a Sustainable Future.”

Business-to-Business Communications or PR Campaign of the Year went to Walker Sands Communications, with runner-ups 5WPR for their pet PR campaign for Camp Bow Wow. Other winners in that category included Accenture, and Sanm Francisco based Vantage PR.

Consumer PR campaign of the year went to New York based Krupp Kommunications. The firm is apparently named Kommunications due to the last name of CEO Heidi Krupp.  2nd place went to Makovsky & MWW.

The Communications/PR Campaign of the Year, for marketing in the consumer space went to New York based 5WPR for their work for client Jetsmarter, which has revolutionized the private jet space. The company has been called the “Uber Of Private Jets” and has received tremendous brand building exposure since launching a year ago.

The new product launch went to Girl Scouts of the USA, for the campaign which they called, “Girl Scouts Adds a ‘Byte’ to Its Iconic Cookie Program”, and others who finished behind them included – once again, and big winners for the nite, Krupp Kommunications & 5W Public Relations for their technology work for client VideoBlocks.

Public Affairs campaign of the year went to the U.S. Green Building Council, and Public Service campaign of the year went to Burson-Marsteller for their “Corporate Perception Indicator.” That product is widely recognized as an industry leader. Social Media campaign of the year went to MWW for their work on the Emmys’, and PR Innovation of the Year went to the Girl Scouts – once again for their iconic cookie program.

More than 3,300 nominations were submitted to The 2015 American Business Awards, and more than 200 executives nationwide participated in judging to determine this year’s Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Award winners.
