Village of Olympia Fields Issues Branding RFP

The Village of Olympia Fields is in the process of selecting and engaging a Marketing Firm experienced in successfully developing and deploying branding and marketing strategies for small towns and municipalities.  As such, the Village is soliciting information from firms that have expertise in translating the strategies and vision of municipalities into profitable growth opportunities by identifying and capitalizing on existing assets. Interested firms are asked to provide a formal request for proposal documentation (RFP) response to the Village of Olympia Fields for evaluation.


The Village of Olympia Fields is a stable and diverse residential community of 5,000 residents and is set amongst the prestigious Olympia Fields Country Club. Olympia Fields is noteworthy as one of the most affluent communities in the United States and was recently named as one of the 10 Best U.S. Suburbs for Retirement.

The Village prides itself on attractive demographics and beautiful housing stock, extensive park and open space lands, easy access to transportation and partnership with a large national recognized hospital.

Scope of Work:

The engagement is anticipated to include the following activities:

Outreach and Engagement; to include  meeting and information gathering with all key stakeholders to understand strategy, vision and direction of the Village; review of existing materials and demographic data; review of previous research, website, marketing presentations and activities currently underway to market the village; development of a SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunities, threat) analysis. Recommendation to address the SWOT analysis results, with focus on economic development recommendations.

Brand Platform Development; synthesize information into a creative brief that includes recommendations and rationale and development of a brand platform which should include high-level view of economic development opportunities and targets; brand strategy, value proposition /brand promise, position statement and written overview of Olympia Fields for marketing purposes.

Brand Platform Testing; test the brand promise and platform with members of key audience groups as determined by the village to assess economic feasibility.

Marketing and Communications Plan; develop a written plan that focuses on achieving stated goals, including business growth; recommend marketing tactics to increase awareness, drive traffic and put the Village in position to attract targeted new businesses.

Development of talking points; for Village staff to assist in the business recruitment process.

Economic Development Microsite; design and develop a new Economic Development site for Olympia Fields that is visually appealing, easily found on the internet and simple to navigate; the site needs to sell the location and the key advantages of Olympia Fields, contain all the information needed to start, grow or locate a business in the Village. The task would include search engine optimization and integration to appropriate social media, such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn etc.  Additionally, the site needs to provide village staff with appropriate analytics and visitor behavior information.

E-mail Newsletter; development of a newsletter template that can be easily used by village staff to target key audiences.
